Here's where you'll find detailed information about the challenge. If after reading this you still have questions, please contact me and I'll respond and add your Q&A to this page.
The Challenge Itself
1. What is the challenge?
This is a challenge in which players must go through all games in the order they appear in the medley game I Wanna Kill the Kamilia 2. There are 62 games to beat.
2. Can anyone participate?
Yes! All you have to do is sign up (see the top of the page) and you'll be part of the action.
3. How does this differ from the K3 Storm Peak Challenge (K3SPC)?
Other than the different medley game being played through, this challenge is MUCH easier than the other challenge which you can find in the K3 tab up top. The main functional difference however is that there are no secret games in K2 nor are there hidden bosses in Kamilia 2 like Kamilia 3 has.
The Games and their Order
1. What is the order of the games I play?
Let's start with the basics first: you must play through the games of each stages in order, so K1, ChokoChoko, GGM, etc. all the way until you reach the final stage with Kamilia 2.
2. Do I have to play the games from the K3SPC again?
Nope! If you've beaten it for the K3SPC you DO NOT need to beat it again. Simply submit that image again to gain credit for it. That being said, if you didn't beat it for the K3SPC and have beaten it before, please abide by the honor code and beat it while going through each game in the challenge in order.
3. How about the other way, playing the K3SPC after the K2SMC?
Yep if you wish to do the K3SPC in the future, any repeat games you played in the K2SMC will count towards that.
4. Where can I find the games for this challenge?
You can go to the challenge tab, the second section of which contains all download links and information (click on the title card picture for notes and even more info).
5. Ugh, starting with Kamilia 1?
Yes, fuck that game. However please don't be discouraged by it. After K1, stage 1 will be much more enjoyable (and again, if you've beaten it in the K3SPC you can skip right past this one! wooo).
Participating and Uploading
1. How do I sign up?
Simply go to the top of the page and click "Login" to get started. Once you put in your info and authenticate it you'll be good to go! Make sure you put your avatar picture in as well so it'll appear on the leaderboards, and your Twitch name so people can find you easier.
2. How do I upload my wins?
In the progress page there will be an image that shows your progress in the challenge, showing all the games you have completed and have to play next. Simply click on the game's picture to upload your win picture and its in-game time. Note that you must be up to the game to actually upload a picture, forcing you to do them in order (or in the case of the secret/boss games, unlock them first).
3. How do I view my times and games?
In the progress page click on a game you beat and a dialogue will pop up showing you your submitted win picture and time, along with the game's leaderboards. Easy enough!
4. Can I re-upload a better time for a game I already beat?
Yes of course you can. When you click on the game you already beat there will be a button you can click to submit your new picture and time. Your old picture/time will be archived.
5. What is that weird ID badge I see on games after I uploaded their win?
Just to make sure the picture and time you submitted are correct, we will need to verify it before it is accepted. While this is happening the ID badge will appear over the game to let you know it is awaiting verification.
6. If I beat a game in the K3SPC can I simply upload that win picture?
As said before, yup! Of course if you previously beat one of the secret/boss games you'd need to wait until you unlocked the game in this challenge to upload it.
The Leaderboards
1. How does the speedrun point system work?
The top time gets 3 points, second best time gets 2 points, third best gets 1 point. The exception is if there's less than three people that actually beat the game for the challenge. In that case: If two people beat a game, top time gets 2 points, second gets 1 point. If only one person beats a game, their top time gets 1 point. This is to prevent people from getting ridiculously high scores just because they've made it further down the game list.
2. Where can I find a game's information?
Simply click on a game's title card picture to view all relevant information about the game, the game's download link, and the full leaderboard for the game extending past the first three places.
3. I beat a game, so why don't I see the points I've earned, or my game completed in the leaderboard?
If your game is awaiting verification it will not appear on the leaderboard just in case, but don't worry you won't have to wait long for it to go through.
